MISSION

Community One Public Safety Training Initiative (COPS-1) is a regionally recognized, IRS approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. COPS-1 provides Mandatory In-Service Training (MIST) and Continuing Law Enforcement Education (CLEE) training to the law enforcement community of Butler County and the surrounding region. Both MIST and CLEE training are approved by the State of Pennsylvania’s Municipal Police Officers’ Education Training Commission (MPOETC).

The mission includes training for businesses, schools, organizations, and groups to improve public safety, decrease crime, and raise funding support for law enforcement education and training.

PURPOSE

The goal is to deliver a law enforcement skills system that develops confidence in the techniques and in commonly trained officers. The skills that are taught are tactically, medically, and legally correct. This approach is critically important; particularly in communities where limited police resources are available.

Providing safety and self-defense training to citizens, businesses, and groups in need and/or at risk is a primary interest to the purpose of COPS-1.

VISION

“The Community One Public Safety Training Initiative will provide personal safety training in many forms to law enforcement and the citizens of the communities in the local region.”

“To protect and serve”

Cops-1 initiated its mission early in 2020. Seeing our rural county and the local region growing, we recognize the need to assure the safety and security of our communities.

To best meet those needs, we chose to broaden our efforts and consolidate our mission. It is our aim to “protect and serve” employing the highest level of our unique skill set and to strengthen partnerships through our mission.
